Artist Statement

I transform fleeting moments of light, place, and natural form into photographic artworks that reveal subtleties of atmosphere, texture, and colour.

My practice begins with observation and image capture, then moves into post-processing, where I build layers and explore blend modes. I print with archival pigment inks onto fine art papers and enhance textures through the application of metal leaf. This year, I am exploring the incorporation of abalone and mother-of-pearl onto my printed work.

I am drawn to subjects that invite interpretation rather than mere documentation. Venice has long been a source of inspiration; its weathered surfaces, reflections, and layered history encourage the exploration of transient beauty and emotional resonance.

My background in interior design informs a sensitivity to colour, pattern, and materiality. I have learned the traditional art of hand-marbled paper and digitally integrate these marbled designs into my photographic compositions, merging contemporary and historical techniques to add depth and texture.

Flowers are central to my practice: grown, photographed, and reassembled into sculptural composite forms inspired by Mary Delany’s paper mosaics. Carefully curated colour palettes provide cohesion and structure across each work.
