Nature’s Colours

When you live in the countryside it is impossible to ignore the surrounding beauty. The shifting seasons are unmissable. Except for ‘Dusk in the Tea Country’, and ‘Bird Shadow’, which were images made in Sri Lanka, the photographs in this section have been captured locally.

I thoroughly enjoy immersing myself in the Northumbrian countryside which has been at my fingertips for the last 25 years. I find trees, especially their branches totally captivating; I love the shapes that they create, often in silhouette. Making sense of a woodland can be challenging, but by focusing on the emergence of Spring or the last of the Autumn leaves, I create vignettes which capture the essence and character of the very British surrounding landscape.
